MINERVA BIKE OF THE WEEK.

Minerva is the Goddes of War, Wisdom and Crafts.

Rusty Wheels and AD Kustom Furnitures Ducati

Our new project bike called ‘Minerva’.

Minerva is the Goddes of War, Wisdom and Crafts.

The photos were taken in Viterbo,

a town of medieval origin a few kilometers from Rome.

The entire project ‘Minerva’

was conceived and directed by my friend

Simone Ceccarelli of  Ruote Rugginose (in English: Rusty Wheels).

The whole process has been made by hand

and all strictly made in Italy.

De bike is a 250cc Ducati MarkII from 1971,

a collectors item all over the World.”

David Aresi, my IOtalian friend tells me:

“Personally, my intervention was based

on the total coating wooden hull front.

I used wood named ‘Padouka’ (red wood, natural!),

the center of the hull I inlaid logo by Simone

"Ruote Rugginose" in Maple and Ebony with

some details in mother of pearl.”

David: “It 's all manual labor.

The concept is to transfer the inlay technique

that is used for classical furniture

(my main job as owner and artist at AD Kustom Furnitures here in Italy)

to motorcycles, as a new technique of decoration.

A work similar to what I did on Union, the Samu’s sidecar,

winner of many custom bike shows all over the World,

including the prestigeous Custom Chrome Show and the Rat’s Hole Show in Daytona.”

“A meticulous work and patience that involves gluing layers

of wood veneer up to completely cover the affected area!”

The styling and craftmanship of this bike is undoubtly

not only created and built by Italians,

but is made with incredibly high quality and perfectionism.
